Director of Alumni Relations

Mildred Kendrick joined Paine College in 2008 as Director of Alumni Relations. Kendrick received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Paine College in 1986. She also received her Teacher Certification from Paine College in 1989. She has served as Executive Director of Alumni Affairs for Paine College from 1989 to 1999. Prior to rejoining Paine College, Kendrick taught Adult Literacy at Augusta Technical College for four years. She taught Title I, Reading and Math for four years in the Richmond County Public School System. Kendrick has served on the Board of Directors for CSRA Girl Scouts and YMCA. She is currently a Jury Commissioner for Richmond County and is on the Foundation Board of Directors for the Augusta Richmond County Library.

Assistant Director of Alumni Relations

Ms. Ala’Torya V. Cranford, a native of Hartsville, SC joined Paine College in 2010, as Coordinator of Alumni Relations and Activities. Cranford works closely with the Paine College Alumni Database and assist the Director of Alumni Relations. Her role involves increasing alumni engagement which is continuously on the rise; advancing technology and services in support of alumni engagement; and strategic planning. Now, as Assistant Director of Alumni Relations she will carry the previous roles as well as work with the National Alumni Association Board of Directors, to ensure strong and productive relationships between chapter leaders and alumni and she has also begun an On the Road Campaign, designed to visit with Alumni throughout the country.

Cranford is also an Assistant Southeast Regional Representative for United Negro College Fund/ National Alumni Council (UNCF/NAC), serves on the Augusta Chamber of Commerce Women in Business (WIB) Steering Committee and is a member of Young Professionals of Augusta (YPA). She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Paine College in 2009 and a Master of Science Degree with emphasis in College Teaching and Learning from Walden University in June 2013. She is currently working towards the Doctor of Education (EdD) in Higher Education Leadership.

While enrolled at Paine College she received academic and athletic accolades, member of Paine College’s Student Government Association, Pre-Professional Science Alliance (PPSA), Paine College’s Women’s Volleyball and Softball teams and Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She also led the Nation in 2007 for the Highest Batting Average in NCAA Division II Softball.
