(Augusta, GA)- On Thursday, April 14, 2011, The Georgia Department of Public Health and the Black AIDS Institute from Los Angeles, California will be at Paine College to educate and provide testing for the Paine College Community and members of the CSRA Community.
The program will be held in the Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel starting at 11:00 a.m. and will last until 1:00 p.m. HIV testing will take place from 11:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. in the classrooms located in the chapel.
“The Greater than AIDS- GA Testing Tour" will visit the seven HBCU campuses on the week of April 11-15. The topics of discussion are centered around testing, education, support and treatment.
The HIV testing tours are multi-organizational collaborative effort to create synergies in the coordination, promotion and execution of HIV testing efforts. The Black AIDS Institute’s mission is to stop the AIDS pandemic in Black communities by engaging and mobilizing Black institutions and individuals in efforts to confront HIV. The Black AIDS Institute is the only national HIVS/AIDS think tank focused exclusively on African-American people.
