(Augusta, GA)- Augusta businessman and philanthropist James M. Hull made a contribution of $10,000 towards the James M. and Karen N. Hull Endowed Scholarship.
The James M. and Karen N. Hull Endowed Scholarship fund was established in April 2008. To date, Hull has appended $260,000 to the endowed scholarship. The scholarship is designed for Paine College students who are awarded on the foundation of academic merit and financial need.
Leondra R. Nash, ’12 of Warner Robins, Georgia and Marcus Allen Smith, of Detroit, Michigan, are the most recently recipients of the scholarship. Nash graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree and a grade point average of 3.37. “The Hull Scholarship award allowed me to devote my time to pursuing academic excellence. I was confident that I would complete my senior year without any interruptions due to financial hardships,” Nash said.
Paine College president, Dr. George C. Bradley, adds, “Mr. Hull’s most recent gift shows the community that our donors and friends of the College are firmly committed to support the advancement of such young brilliant scholars.”
The James M. and Karen N. Hull Endowed Scholarship is awarded during Paine’s annual Honor’s Convocation held in March.
