Golf Team Finishes in Second

Albany, GA-  The Paine College Lions Golf team ended their 2010 regular season with a second place seeding in the SIAC golf tournament held in Albany, Georgia April 17-19, 2010. 

“I am very pleased with the work that my guys put in. We had to overcome some barriers, but we were able to recover and finish in second place” stated head Coach Hoover Johnson.

The Lions finished behind Morehouse College with scores 371, 313, 328 totaling 1012 and Par +148.
Chauncey Davis led for the Lions with a total score 238, Par +22,followed by Richard Dollar with a total score 247, Par +31, Brad Freeman scored 259, Par + 43, and Cleveland Andrews completed the tournament scoring 312, Par +96.  Due to technicalities, SIAC Freshman of the Year Miles Anderson did not finish the tournament.

The Lions golf team is gearing up to compete in the PGA Minority golf championships in Port St. Lucie Florida, May 7-9, 2010.
