Augusta, GA- Selina B. Kohn, Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator/Head Women’s Volleyball coach at Paine College, recently became a 2010 graduate of the NCAA’s Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females.
Kohn attended four consecutive weekend development sessions and a week-long workshop with the purpose of expanding their experience in leadership, which culminated with the graduation held at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Established in 2001, the Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males and Females was created to address the critical shortage of senior level professionals of color in athletics administration at NCAA member colleges and universities and athletics conference offices.

The Institute takes the administrators through 12 months of training and skills development that will enhance their job-related competencies in four specific program areas of Leadership and Administration, Human Resource Management, Finance and Fundraising, and Booster, Public, and Media Relations. The leadership academy concluded with a weeklong session focusing on Inner Game of Leadership.
Coach Kohn has had the opportunity to attend several other leadership institutes, including National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Institute for Administrative Advancement Administrators (NACWAA/HERS), National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Institute for Administrative Advancement Administrator/ Leadership Enhancement Institute (NACWAA/LEI), NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, and NCAA Women Coaches Academy Dimension II.
Kohn will be entering her 13th year as the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach for the Paine College Lady Lions. She has served as Associate Director of Athletics for four years and Senior Woman Administrator for seven years. In addition, Coach Kohn held the position of head coach of the Paine College Lady Lions basketball team for eight years, and led the Lady Lions to back-to-back Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Championships in 2005 and 2006.
The Thomasville, Georgia native is a graduate of Albany State University, where she was a standout basketball player. She is married to Benjamin Kohn and they have two children Marcus and Christopher.
