ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB OPENING
POSITION TITLE: Associate Director/Academic Advisor, TRIO Student Support Services
REPORTS TO (POSITION): Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)
DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND AUTHORITY
- Coordinates Tutorial Program
- Coordinates identification of and interviewing of Program Assistants/Tutors
- Design tutorial programs, activities, and workshops
- Provides academic advisement to students, particularly freshmen
- Instructs orientation classes (Education 101)
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- EDUCATION: Master's Degree preferably in counseling and guidance or related field
- EXPERIENCE: Experience working with students preferred and report preparation
- SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Leadership qualities, and good communication skills
RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTACT WITH OTHERS
- Student contact in and outside of the classroom
- Faculty business and committee meetings
- Department and faculty committee meetings
PERCENTAGE OF TIME ALLOCATION: 100%
