ANNOUNCEMENT OF JOB OPENING

 

POSITION TITLE:  Associate Director/Academic Advisor, TRIO Student Support Services

REPORTS TO (POSITION):  Director of TRIO Student Support Services (SSS)

DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND AUTHORITY

  • Coordinates Tutorial Program
  • Coordinates identification of and interviewing of Program Assistants/Tutors
  • Design tutorial programs, activities, and workshops
  • Provides academic advisement to students, particularly freshmen
  • Instructs orientation classes (Education 101)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • EDUCATION:  Master's Degree preferably in counseling and guidance or related field
  • EXPERIENCE:  Experience working with students preferred and report preparation
  • SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  Leadership qualities, and good communication skills

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONTACT WITH OTHERS

  • Student contact in and outside of the classroom
  • Faculty business and committee meetings
  • Department and faculty committee meetings

PERCENTAGE OF TIME ALLOCATION:  100%
