GENERAL SUMMARY: The Department of Mathematics, Sciences, and Technology (MST) in the School of Arts and Sciences at Paine College located in Augusta, Georgia invites applications for the part time position of academic tutor. JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will report to the chair of the department of mathematics, Sciences and Technology and the director of the tutorial enrichment center. Under general supervision from the program director, the tutor works with students, to provide high-quality academic tutoring services, this may include instruction in mathematics, biology, chemistry and other related areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess students' academic need Provide basic skills instruction and tutoring to participants Evaluate student progress Keep detailed records of services provided Submit progress and summary reports to Director Participate in staff trainings
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a related field RANK AND SALARY This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate of $18/hr EFFECTIVE DATE OF APPOINTMENT Appointment to begin August 6, 2018.
