Admission Requirements

Admission requirements are different for each type of student. To see specific admission requirements, choose the type of prospective student that best describes you.

First-Time Freshmen

Applicants who are about to obtain or has obtained a high school diploma or GED from a school accredited by a state or regional accrediting agency and has never attended Paine College or any other post-secondary institution of higher education (unless jointly enrolled while completing high school) are referred to as first-time freshmen. Transfer Students

Applicants who have attended a college or university after high school, but who now want to work toward a degree at Paine College. Review the admission requirements for Transfer Students.

Transient Students

Students pursuing a degree at another institution who wishes to enroll at Paine College for specific classes to be counted toward their degree. Review the admission requirements for Transient Students.

Re-Admitting Students

Students whose attendance at Paine College has been interrupted for one semester or more. Review the admission requirements for Re-admitted students.

International Students

Students who are not citizens of the United States. Review the admission requirements for International Students.

CAPS Students

The central purpose of the Center for Advanced Professional Studies at Paine College is to extend the College's learning community beyond the core partnership of faculty and traditional degree students, furthering the educational mission of Paine College in a welcoming and non-competitive setting for adult learners. Paine College High School Dual Enrollment Program

Paine College offers dual enrollment to motivated high school students who have completed at least one year of high school. The High School Dual Enrollment Program is designed to challenge high school students to participate in instruction at the collegiate level while continuing to earn their high school degree.

Students enrolled in the High School Dual Enrollment program take college courses in order to satisfy high school diploma requirements, as well as earn college credit applicable toward a college degree. Paine College High School Dual Enrollment students are potentially eligible for funding through the ACCEL program to cover their tuition. ACCEL funding does not apply to summer enrollment. Students are responsible for the cost of books and related fees.
