Paine College New & Returning Students, Faculty, and Staff Lion Nation Awaits!
Happy New Year! I hope this email finds you and your loved ones doing well.
Today, we resumed in-person operations for the Spring 2022 semester. I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome back faculty and staff as we prepare to greet new and returning students beginning January 5th. Registration and check-in for new and returning students will take place in Candler Memorial Library on the second floor over a 4-day period: January 5th, 6th, 7th, and Monday, January 10th. In-person classes will begin on Monday, January 10th.
COVID-19 Guidelines:
The Paine College family has remained strong and vigilant throughout the many challenges and changes that resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. We will continue to take proactive steps that will help to maintain a healthy and safe campus.
All Paine College students, faculty, and staff are required to take the COVID Tests before returning to work and/or to the classroom.
Registration Checklist: Due to the rise in COVID cases throughout Augusta and the state of Georgia, the Registration Checklist will include mandatory COVID testing for all new and returning students. All students are required to take the COVID test and receive an ‘all clear' status before being allowed to register, move into residential halls, and attend classes. Upon receiving an "all clear" status, the Nurse will issue a wristband that will indicate the student has received clearance to advance to the Registration site.
What to Expect - COVID Testing Station: The COVID Testing Station will be located inside the Frank Yerby House off Laney- Walker Blvd. Enter the campus from Laney Walker Blvd., follow the COVID Testing Station signs, and park. Upon entering the COVID Testing Station, the Paine College Campus Nurse and Synergene Solutions medical staff will greet you. The Rapid COVID Test will produce results in about 15 minutes, however the standard PCR test offered by Synergene will return results in 48 hours. Both tests are free. There is no charge.
All Visitors are required to take the COVID Test
All Visitors who desire to accompany students to the Registration site located in Candler Memorial Library and assist students with moving into residential halls will be required to take the Rapid Test. Visitors must receive an "all clear" status from the campus Nurse before proceeding to Registration and to residential halls.
In closing, we are looking forward to a successful and productive 2022 Spring semester. We encourage you to do everything that you can to keep our campus safe and help maintain a healthy environment.
Protect yourself and others from COVID-19 by:
