Paine College is a private church affiliated Historically Black College (HBCU) repositioning itself as a nationally significant liberal arts institution and center of cultural capital transference. Under the dynamic leadership of its newly appointment president, Dr. Lester Ageyi McCorn, the College endeavors to build a technology savvy, data-driven analytics and accreditation arm of the general academic areas of the College.

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA
Augusta, GA is a regional center for medicine, biotechnology, and cybersecurity. Located near the Georgia/South Carolina border (Central Savannah River Area). Nestled along the banks of the Savannah River, Augusta is the second largest (202,000+ according to the 2020 Cenus) and oldest city in Georgia. Located in the east central section of the state, Augusta is approximately 150 miles east of Atlanta on Interstate 20. Augusta is also centrally located just two and a half hours from the beach and the mountains. The area is internationally known for the PGA’s Masters Tournament held at the Augusta National Golf Club and being the home of James Brown, Jessye Norman, Laurence Fishburne and Hulk Hogan.

The area is also home to the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE), the U.S. Army’s force modernization proponent for Cyberspace Operations, Signal/Communications Networks and Information Services, and Electronic Warfare (EW), and is responsible for developing related doctrine, organizational, training, materiel, leadership/education, personnel, and facility solutions. A major aspect of the CCoE’s mission is the training, education, and development of world-class, highly skilled Signal, Cyber, and EW professionals supporting operations at the strategic, operational, and tactical level.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Deputy Provost will manage the Office of Analytics and Accreditation and serve as the institutional liaison for the Transnational

Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) and any future accreditation agencies. S/he is charged with supporting degree programs, co-curricular and administrative units and assisting faculty and staff in using assessment results to improve student learning and program effectiveness. The Deputy Provost will collaborate with stakeholders in identifying outcomes and developing assessment instruments, managing assessments, coordinating data collection and analysis, summarizing assessment findings, and assisting in the development of assessment and accreditation reports. The ideal candidate will be a talented and experienced administrator with strategic leadership ability, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, administrative acumen, and a passion for the unique mission of Paine College.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Develops and establishes operating goals, policies, and procedures for the analytics office, as appropriate; recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Supports continuous academic program assessment (curricular and co-curricular activities) and improvement of student learning through consultation, mentoring and professional development.
  • Participates in the development, organization, analysis and reporting of student learning outcomes and related activities to support the College’s academic, budget and planning activities.
  • Promotes internal and external communication of assessment results.
  • Supports the ongoing development and implementation of comprehensive assessment programs for all academic and administrative units in alignment with the College’s strategic plan.
  • Participates in the collection and analysis of various assessment data to support accreditation and program reviews, including dissemination of results and makes data-informed decisions.
  • Interprets assessment findings and prepares the College’s Annual Assessment Report to summarize findings, with particular emphasis on the quality of the assessment efforts and findings that influence institutional decision-making and policy development.
  • Maintains documentation needed for national, regional, and discipline-specific accreditation.
  • Leads and supervises personnel, to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution; provides performance management feedback as appropriate.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ph.D. in from a regionally accredited R1 or R2 institution;
  • Prior service as an academic dean or higher
  • Proven track record of implementing data-driven innovation & organizational change
  • Ten years of significant people leadership experience in education, including leading leaders
  • Three years of full-time professional experience working in a metrics-driven environment, relationship-based roles, or other related professions
  • Expertise in assessment, data analysis, and educational outcomes;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse members of the University’s community including students, faculty, staff, and administrators;
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze qualitative and quantitative data and effectively prepare and present reports;
  • An understanding of accreditation standards, practices, and goals and experience in preparing reports for accreditation bodies;
  • Experience in strategic planning, program development and accreditation, including outcomes assessment;
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated record of sound fiscal and resource management.

  • Experience serving students from underrepresented communities.
