W. TEDDY McDANIEL, III
William “Teddy” McDaniel, III serves as Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Paine College, where he leads the College’s fundraising, alumni engagement, donor relations, and advancement strategy. In this role, he is responsible for expanding philanthropic support, strengthening strategic partnerships, and building a sustainable culture of giving that advances student success and institutional excellence.
With more than two decades of leadership experience across higher education, nonprofit management, and financial services, McDaniel is recognized as a transformational leader and mission-driven strategist. Prior to joining Paine College, he served as Senior Advisor to the President of Talladega College, where he played a key role in generating $4.7 million through major gifts, grants, and donor engagement initiatives. He helped secure two seven-figure gifts and led a successful Day of Giving campaign that raised $470,000 in unrestricted support.
McDaniel previously served as President and CEO of the Urban League of Central Carolinas, leading the organization through significant financial growth and programmatic expansion. His executive leadership career also includes roles as President and CEO of the Austin Area Urban League and Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Phoenix Urban League. In 2014, he was recognized by the National Urban League as “Newcomer CEO of the Year.”
Before transitioning to nonprofit leadership, McDaniel spent over 15 years in financial services, underwriting more than $100 million in commercial and real estate loans and managing multi-million-dollar portfolios for national clients.
A proud Atlanta native raised in Columbus, Ohio, McDaniel is a third-generation graduate of Morehouse College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Finance, McDaniel is also a graduate of Leadership Austin (2015) and the American Leadership Forum-CLT (2019). He is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.
