Rev. Dr. Lester A. McCorn is a seasoned transformational leader, scholar, activist, and ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church with nearly four decades of leadership experience. A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, he is the newly appointed 18th President of Paine College in Augusta, Georgia. He previously served as President of Clinton College, where he oversaw significant enrollment growth, a $25 million campus transformation, and a flawless accreditation review. At Paine College, Dr. McCorn is spearheading a 10-year Transformation Plan in collaboration with major partners like Augusta National Golf Club and Bank of America. He is an alumnus of Morehouse College, Yale Divinity School, and United Theological Seminary, and is completing a Ph.D. in Leadership and Change at Antioch University.
A published author and former pastor in several major cities, Dr. McCorn is deeply committed to economic justice and prophetic community leadership. He is a Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and is married to Charlene M. McCorn, with whom he shares four adult children and five grandchildren.
Charlene Maria Mundy-McCorn, lovingly known as "Lady Char," is an accomplished educator, faith leader, and the First Lady of Paine College in Augusta, GA. With degrees from Valdosta State University and the University of New Haven, she has spent 28 years shaping young minds through public education in communities across the country. Grounded in her deep faith, she has served the A.M.E. Zion Church in numerous capacities and has shared in global ministry with her husband, Dr. Lester McCorn, for over 30 years. A proud mother of four and "GiGi" to five grandchildren, she is celebrated for her warmth, vibrant spirit, and unwavering dedication to youth, worship, and service.
