From Paine to Global Impact
This week, we proudly shine the Alumni Spotlight on Lee Johnson, Jr. ’10, a third-generation Paineite whose journey reflects leadership, professional excellence, service, and the enduring impact of a Paine College education.
Lee earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Paine College in 2010. During his time on campus, he distinguished himself as a student leader, serving as Mr. Paine College 2008–2009, competing as a member of the Paine College Baseball Team, and becoming an initiate of the Eta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Since graduating, Lee has built an impressive career with Microsoft, where he currently serves as a Global Learning & Development Program Manager for Cloud Operations + Innovation, supporting teams throughout the Americas, Canada, and Latin America. During his 15-year career, his work has helped strengthen teams across regions while earning recognition for leadership, collaboration, diversity and inclusion, program excellence, and organizational impact.
Committed to continued growth, Lee earned a Master of Science in IT-Security Management from Colorado Technical University in 2018, further expanding his expertise in cybersecurity and technology leadership.
Yet his commitment to leadership extends far beyond his professional career. Lee remains actively connected to Paine College, having served as both Vice President and President of the Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter and now contributing to the Atlanta Alumni Chapter. Through fundraising, student encouragement, community engagement, and alumni programming, he continues to give back to the institution that helped prepare him for success.
Lee is also a devoted husband and proud father of three daughters. For him, family, faith, service, and creating a strong legacy remain at the heart of his purpose.
Lee Johnson, Jr. ’10 is living proof of Paine College’s promise: “You Can Get There From Here.” From student leader to technology professional with global influence, he continues to make his alma mater proud while creating pathways of opportunity and impact for others.
