PAINE COLLEGE
ACCREDITED AFFORDABLE ACCESSIBLE

COVID-19 UPDATE
June 25, 2021
Greetings Paine College Community:

As we move to open the Fall 2021 semester for in-person instruction, Paine College will require all new and returning students, faculty, and staff to be fully vaccinated before arrival to campus for New Student Orientation (July 28, 2021) and Faculty/Staff Fall Opening Conference (July 29, 2021).

Students who are planning to reside in on-campus housing and attend in-person classes will be required to be fully vaccinated.

Students must show proof of being fully vaccinated prior to moving into residential halls. Fully vaccinated is defined as having taken the number of shots required by the company (Moderna and Pfizer – 2 shots), and (Johnson & Johnson – 1 shot).

We will continue to guide our campus family to vaccinations at off-campus sites located in Augusta. Rapid COVID-19 testing will be available on campus. Temperature checks will be conducted at select locations throughout the campus.

The Paine College Community will continue to mandate masks and adhere to protocols and guidelines that will facilitate a healthy environment, mitigate the threat of COVID-19 and prevent the spread of new variants of the virus.

Vaccine exemptions will be granted upon a case-by-case basis. The Paine College COVID-19 Task Force will provide updates as changes occur.

To protect yourself, friends, and the Paine family, we strongly encourage you to make your plan to get vaccinated. Make sure to upload your vaccination record to your mobile device and/or have proof of vaccination in your possession.

As we look toward returning to campus in the fall, please continue to practice protocols that will help to mitigate COVID-19 and the spread of variants.

We sincerely appreciate your cooperation and welcome your questions and feedback.

Stay well. Stay safe.
Cheryl Evans Jones, Ph.D.
President, Paine College
