The Paine College “Pack the Pew” Fundraising Campaign Surpasses $30,000… Seeks to Raise $125,000

AUGUSTA, GA — Paine College is calling on its community of faculty, staff, students, alumni, churches, businesses, and friends to join Pack the Pew, an exciting fundraising campaign designed to generate financial support for the institution while fostering unity, engagement, and friendly competition across the College community.

Introduced by the Paine College Staff Association, the campaign kicked off in October and will conclude on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 5:00 pm eastern with a celebratory gathering inside Gilbert-Lambuth Memorial Chapel. With more than $30,000 raised toward its ambitious $125,000 goal, Pack the Pew is building momentum and inviting even more supporters to help make the campaign a success.

Dr. Lester A. McCorn, President, said he commended the Staff Association for leading the creative initiative that has elevated the collaborative spirit throughout the campus.

“Through the collective efforts of our staff and supporters, we are working toward a shared goal that reflects our commitment to the future of Paine College.”

Ms. Uzetta Gresham, President of the Staff Association, commented,

“When faculty, staff, and the community come together with hearts of generosity, we do more than give—we invest in dreams, strengthen futures, and preserve the legacy of Paine College. Every gift, every act of kindness, and every shared blessing makes a difference in the lives of our students. Let us fill the pews with faith, our hearts with compassion, and our hands with a willingness to give.”

At the heart of Pack the Pew are Team Captains — members of the College community who rally their personal and professional networks to support Paine College.

Donors can contribute online through the College’s website, where they can select the Team Captain they wish to support. Those who prefer to give by check may also designate their contribution to the Team Captain of their choice, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to participate in a way that is convenient for them.

Jaylen Miller, Mister Paine College, stated,

“Pack the Pew is a reminder of the love and support our Paine family has for its students. I’m grateful for everyone who continues to invest in our education, opportunities, and in our future.”

Team Captains will be recognized for their fundraising achievements, including awards for raising the most money and cultivating the greatest number of donors.

With the $125,000 goal in sight, every contribution and every new donor can help move Paine College closer to its target. Whether participating as a Team Captain, contributing to a preferred captain, or encouraging others to give, members of the Lion Nation family and the surrounding community are invited to take part in this worthwhile initiative.

Supporting Pack the Pew is simple:
