Daniel E. Atkins, 1916-1917 

Mr. Atkins, a native of Tennessee, served as Business Manager of the college during the administration of Dr. Hammond. Following Dr. Hammond’s resignation on June 4, 1915, Atkins was appointed Acting President and was formally named President the following year. At just 28 years old, he became the youngest president in the institution’s history. He resigned from the presidency in 1917.
