14th President of Paine College
George C. Bradley served as president of Paine College from 2007 to 2014. Prior to his appointment, he held roles in pastoral leadership and church administration, bringing experience in faith-based leadership and community engagement. His background reflected Paine College’s historic ties to its founding denominations, the United Methodist Church and the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, which established the college in 1882.
During his presidency, Bradley focused on strengthening institutional partnerships, fundraising, and stabilizing the college amid financial and accreditation challenges. He worked to expand community relationships in Augusta, Georgia, while emphasizing student recruitment, alumni engagement, and church support. Bradley also launched a $14 million campaign that funded the construction of the Health Education Activities Learning (HEAL) Complex. In addition, his administration initiated campus improvement projects and long-term strategic planning for facilities and academic programs.
He concluded his presidency in 2014, after which the Board of Trustees appointed new leadership to guide institutional restructuring and ensure accreditation compliance.
